How to Backside Noseslide

There are two ways to go about doing a backside noseslide, the first way which I would recommend you start out with is...

Slappy Style Noseslides: This is where you don't have to actually pop your board to do a noseslide. They are a very fun trick to learn!

Step 1: Have one foot on the nose and one on the tail.

Step 2: Ride at the ledge at a reasonable pace and on a 30 - 45 degree angle.

Step 3: Start leaning your weight back as if you were doing a manual.

Step 4: Once your nose hits the curb shift your weight to the front of your board.

Step 5: Be prepared to slide when you get on the curb and keep your balance.

Step 6: As you start to slow down shift your weight back onto the tail of your board and turn out.

The second way of doing a noseslide is by popping into it. It's a great deal harder to do than Slappy Style so I would recommend having that down first before you try this way. You also should have your Frontside 180s down.

Step 1: Ride parallel to the ledge at a comfortable pace.

Step 2: Start to bend your knees and twist your shoulders as if you were doing a frontside 180 or BS boardslide but you'll probably want to have your front foot a bit higher than usual.

Step 3: Pop the board and start to do a 90 degree turn towards the ledge.

Step 4: Once you reach your peak slam the nose down on the ledge and put all your weight on it.

Tip: The key to ollieing into a noseslide is that you get above the ledge before locking it in. The biggest mistake I see is that people try to lift their nose up onto the ledge instead of slamming it in from above.

Step 5: Keep your balance and slide the ledge for a bit.

Step 6: Once you slow down shift your weight back to your tail and at the same time twist your shoulders back the way you entered the trick, or if you want to go to fakie twist your shoulders the opposite way.

Step 7: Ride away and you've just learned how to Backside Noseslide on a Skateboard!
